Facebook/Instagram/Pickpocket

Facebook/Instagram has been stealing from me and I have had enough. It stole my data and sold it to a company that used the data to influence me and you in the 2016 election. It chooses who gets free speech. The richer and more powerful you are the more you get. It is controlling what I see. It controls how many people and who, get to see what I post. It is all about making Facebook richer. Facebook will not admit that it is a media company so that it does not have to play by the rules of journalism. But it is where most people get their news. Facebook/Instagram is way too powerful and it is doing great damage to our society. I will no longer help them. I will miss the connections I have made on this platform. I will miss interacting with people who I don’t get to see often, and I will miss the easy connections with my friends that it offers me. I will miss sharing my work and seeing and being inspired by the amazing work of others. But I have to make room for another smart person to step up and create a social media platform that is working for the good of society. One that shows me what is really happening.
